The Glasson Family
In the heart of my imagination lies a place where rolling hills stretch as far as the eye can see, where children frolic in the soft breeze, and where the gently light of a cool summer evening paints everything in a magical hue. This dream location isn't just a figment of my imagination; it's a beautiful reality where I recently had the privilege of capturing timeless memories for a loving family through the lens of my camera.
Picture-perfect scenes unfolded before us as we started to explore this idyllic spot, hidden in the Eastern Dandenong Ranges. The rolling hills, edged with tall pines, seemed to embrace us with their tranquil beauty. The gentle breeze whispered secrets as it tousled the hair of the three children, adding an element of spontaneity and joy to the atmosphere.
Despite the warmth of the previous summer day, the evening air carried a coolness that had us almost reaching for our jumpers to keep our bodies warm, but it had created the perfect setting for our photography session. Even through the heavy overcast, we couldn't help but marvel at the ethereal beauty surrounding us.
With my camera in hand, I watched as the children ran freely across the open fields, their laughter echoing through the air. Each click of the shutter captured not just smiles and poses, but the genuine bond and love shared between them. In that moment, time seemed to stand still as they embraced the simple joy of being together in this dream-like setting.
As the light began to sink below the hills, painting the sky in magical cloudy blues, I couldn't shake the bittersweet realisation that moments like these are fleeting for my own family now. With each passing year, children grow older, their lives taking them in new and unpredictable directions. And with my youngest child about to become a teenager I am feeling this more so now than ever before. But amidst this crazy life, taxing children around and working hard, I am so grateful for the opportunity to capture these precious moments for other families that will forever be etched in their memories and hang lovingly on their walls.
At home, we still need to update our own family photograph and I really want it to be right here, in this location. This place is my own personal dream, this is the vision I have had in my head for so long now. A landscape photograph that takes pride of place on our lounge room wall that just happens to have all of us in it.
This family photography session with the Glasson's was not just about capturing images; it was about capturing the essence of life itself – the laughter, the love, and the timeless memories that they with always carry with them. My heart felt so full by the end of their session and now I just need to make that happen for my own family too. I think I might just pop in on my birthday wish list. But at least for now, my heart is content.
